It's Back to School!

Alas Labor Day is over, the daylight is is growing shorter, bright yellow school buses are back in business and for parents all over the US, it's the most wonderful time of the year! Back to school!  Well except for my older son who attends a year round school.  He let's me know in no uncertain terms the inequity of his situation on a daily basis.  So to celebrate the the new year, here's a wonderful vintage image of a class with their teacher.  I think this could very well be the entire school as there seems to be children of all ages in the photo.  it's just so wonderful!

Fruit Images

Here's a pretty botanical image of summer fruits.  We just went to fair last week and I always enjoy seeing all the wonderful fruits and vegetables spread accross the fair tables with their ribbons.  The colors are so vibrant and all the produce looks so good I have to restrain myself from pick up a ripe peach or a gorgeous tomato and pocket it for later on.   The only sad part about fair season here in Maryland is that it's the end of August and saddly it's time to go back to school and summer is on it's way out.  So at for at least a few more weeks summer is still in full swing and we can still enjoy it's fruits

Colorful Vintage Orange Crate Label

Today I have a absolutely beautiful orange crate label to add to the Artzee Blog Library.  The colors are so vibrant and pretty.  My first thought for this beautiful graphic was how cute would it be to make kitchen tee towels with it?  It also would be really cool to find a crate or make a wooden craft and decoupage the orange graphic to it. If you don't like those ideas, hopefully you will be able to find something fun to do with it yourself. Enjoy!

It's August and it's Vacation Time...

For me the Summer has always been about vacation time at the beach, especially the month of August.  I was extremely lucky to have had grandparents who owned a house on Rehobeth Bay and we spent many a dog day in August doing all kinds of fun things like fishing, swimming, crabbing, and of course waterskiing.  I remember how hard it was learning how to get up on skis.  It took more than a few nosefuls of water before I was finally able to get the whole way up.  I remember the sense of excitement and pride when I took my first tour around the bay up on skis.  I felt like a aquamaid from the Cypress garden show in Flordia.  So in honor of those special summer memories I'm giving out for my freebie today a vintage postcard of the real Cypress Gardens aquamaids.  I'm also including a link for the Gogo's video of their hit Vacation.  Definiely an oldie but goodie from my generation!  So enjoy these last few weeks of Summer before we head into fall!

Vintage Ad for DuPont That Screams" What Were They Thinking?"

Here's a crazy vintage ad from DuPont that I just had to share because it's so crazy wrong.  Who would think to put together babies and wrap them with suffocating clear plastic cellophane wrap?!!!   It's just so insane it's funny!  I don't know if you'll find anything crafty to do with this image but it's a crazy odditie that's for sure!
